The last two days have been filled with research driven by a further session with my mentor, Steven Essa & his enthusiasm for what he is teaching. It is a really exciting time & made all the more rewarding because everyone my business partner, Stephen & I share our ideas & intnetions with gets just as enthused by what we are aiming to do.
Last night & this morning I have been working on defining our businesses & building on the work the Brett (McFall) did with me on identifying & defining our USP. It’s such an important part of the process & really helps focus the mind & ask searching questions of your business plans. The best thing is, we are coming up strong as I work throught the exercises.
After that I have been researching website platforms. I have been looking through hundreds of examples & being guided by awards handed out to websites in different areas of business. Any ideas or recommendations, please feel free to post them here!
Steven has suggested that WordPress sites are a great platform & so to this end I followed up the insirational presentation that Nicola Cairncross delivered at the World Internet Summit & emailed her. Just as with the other presenters from the WIS I have been privilieged to chat with since the weekend, Nicola was no different – she had returned my email in ten minutes with my questions answered. It really does go to show that these guys are different class both in terms of knowledge but also in terms of ability to give back to those just starting out in the field.
So the platform that seems to come out on top from my research so far is the WP Wishlist. We’ll see where we go from here!!!
